Discover the power of personalised prescription skincare with The Secret.

We are proud to partner with The Secret Skincare; a luxury Australian prescription skincare brand that answers a gap in the industry to curate a product that perfectly complements its owner, rather than trying to squeeze them into a one size fits all formula. Prescription skincare allows just this; however, it’s usually not accessible for the everyday individual, with multiple referrals, long wait times and large consultation fees.

The Secret Skincare products were designed by doctors to treat a variety of challenging skin conditions such as pigmentation, rosacea, acne and dermatitis. The range includes simple day and night formulas containing medically-proven ingredients to help you achieve healthy skin, functioning in optimal condition.

At Butter, we believe everyone deserves to find confidence and feel beautiful. As an exclusive Tasmanian Secret Skincare partner, we offer consultations to understand your skin goals and skincare routine. We connect you with customised formulations based on your skin goals, to promote a healthy, glowing complexion. We also nurture you on your journey to skin health with a personalised treatment plan from one of our Secret Skincare Dermatologists and advice on how to safely introduce prescription skincare. Did we mention that some private health funds will reimburse part of the cost for prescription skincare? We recommend checking with your private health fund to determine your level of cover for prescription medications with schedule 4 ingredients.

The Secret Skincare shares Butter’s minimalist approach to skin, ageing and sustainability. All products from The Secret Skincare are either reusable, recyclable or biodegradable. The Secret Skincare range is made to order, cruelty free, vegan and free of parabens, colours and fragrances.

Conditions we treat with
The Secret Skincare .

  • Appears due to an overproduction of melanin, stimulated by a number of different triggers such as UV exposure, hormones, genetics and even medical conditions and certain medications. Visually, it can be recognised as patches of the skin appear darker than the skin surrounding.

  • Red bumps that appear on the skin due to a blockage in the pores, usually as a result of excess oil production, dead skin cells, bacteria or inflammation.

  • Different hormones can stimulate melanin production to cause what is commonly known as the skin condition melasma. The skin changes that occur are the result of increased numbers of the pigment producing cells in the skin (melanocytes). Melasma tends to be larger patches of skin that appear darker than the skin surrounding.

  • Skin that lacks glow, or brightness, usually arising from a number of other concerns, such as pigmentation, skin texture, dehydration, acne and so on.

  • Generally a result of active breakouts leaving behind texture and uneven skin tone. This can result in either texturised scarring or residual reddish-pink scars, known as post-inflammatory erythema (PIE). PIE is a result of blood vessel damage within inflamed skin.

  • Aesthetically, ageing skin usually refers to loss of elasticity and volume to the skin, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and a dry, textured complexion.

  • Deep creasing on the skin that remains visible and is due to a loss of collagen and elastin in the skin.

  • A chronic skin condition that causes facial blood vessels to enlarge, giving the cheeks and nose a flushed appearance. Side effects also include increased skin sensitivity, acne-like breakouts and intolerance to active ingredients. Rosacea can be triggered by a variety of everyday lifestyle factors such as what you eat, drink, heat, stress and more.

  • Holes on the skin that are visible to the eye due to their larger size. Pores secrete oil, sweat and other substances from the skin.

  • Where inflammation in the skin has occurred due to contact with allergens, irritants or other triggers, usually as a result of a damaged lipid barrier. You can identify dermatitis typically as a cluster of small pimples, typically around the mouth (perioral), nose (perinasal) or between the brows (periorbital). It can look almost rash-like, can be quite red, inflamed and itchy.

  • Absolutely everyone can benefit from healthy skin. The idea behind The Secret range is to create healthy skin, functioning in optimal condition. When your skin is in optimal condition it does not overproduce oil and cause breakouts, nor does it overproduce melanin and cause pigmentation.
